Not too long ago, we started off a series on businesses that can fetch the millions but are largely ignored by a lot of people. Today, I bring you yet another business that is a real buck fetcher

MOBILE BOOK SALES BUSINESS


Many people believe that Nigerians are not readers, but let me shock you with the fact that millions of books are imported into the country every month. A lot of books are also churned out by our indigenous writers. I am sure you know Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Praise George, Emmanuel Olumide and a host of others. These people are constantly churning out relevant books into the market.
The question is who are the people reading these books? I’m sure you now get my point.
Now lets get down to business. To make it big in mobile book sales business just like any other business, there are things you must pay attention to.
i) What is your goal?
When there is no goal, we wander about without a direction. So define your goal and pursue it with the tenacity it requires.
ii) Do you have a business plan?
Did I hear you ask – you mean a business plan for a mobile sales business? Yes! Develop a  plan for your business.
iii) Do you know your market?
By market, I mean your target audience or group. Where are they and how can you get to them? When do they prefer to buy? What kind of books do they always buy?
iv) How much do you really want to make?
You must set how much you really want to make from your business. I ask again , how much do you really want to make? One good thing about fixing how much you want to make every week/month is the fact that it keeps your marketing spirit( your drive) high.
v) What types of books are in hot demand
Please steer away from the temptation of selling just about any book with the ‘best seller’ tag. Do your research and find out what type of books your target market wants. Once you’ ve identified these books that are in hot demand, you sure will be smiling to the bank.
A word on some personal skills
a) Try and understand what direct marketing is all about and how to make a success of it.
b) Good customer service: Remember as a direct marketer, people tend to first buy you before buying your books. Learn how to treat your customers well. Be warm and a  keen listener to your customers.

Where To Sell Your Books








Books are mainly sold at seminars, workshops, schools and churches. Take a trip to some of the big churches
especially in Lagos, you will understand how lucrative book selling is.
Books are also sold in banks. Aside reading some books relevant to their profession, bankers are known to read a lot of books on ‘how to be your boss’.

My friends from the onset, we promised to expose you to practical ways of earning  more income from different sources. Please, if you are looking for quick fixes, look elsewhere. However, if you are looking for reliable, practical means of making more money, then be our guest. You are on the right path!
One truth you must know is that Nigeria is a very vast market where you can make a lot of money the moment you discover a need and then solve or provide a solution to it. In these series, we are going to be discussing ten great businesses that will rake in the millions. Just like I mentioned earlier on, Nigeria is such a vast country with unlimited opportunities and potentialities.

    Frozen foods business is a sure bucks earner. It is a business you ‘ll ever feel grateful if you venture into it. The business involves selling

    3. Turkey
    4. Shrimps
    5. Snails
    6. Beef (special parts)
    7. Goat(special parts)
     Most people in the business prefer to deal on the first three because of the high demand. You can never get it wrong with this business. Another beautiful thing about this business is that you don’t need to be present 24/7 to monitor it. This is because it is easier to work out an estimation of how much you are supposed to make on each carton.
    A research carried out by The Next Entrepreneur shows that the business thrives on a daily basis with its peak during the weekend. A few of the shops visited while this report is being put together had a good number of people waiting to be attended to.
    Some of the attendants who spoke with us confirmed that the business thrives most in the evening after work that is. They further reiterated the fact that you can never go wrong on frozen foods business as long as you are doing the right things.

    Please remember your relationship with your customer is very vital. A lot of small businesses around here die as a result of poor customer service. A satisfied customer is sure to return pretty soon. But a poorly treated customer will not only bolt, he will ‘badmouth’ your business. Remember the power of word of mouth!

    What does it take to make it big as entrepreneur? Probably come up with a good idea and the cash will start rolling in? Not exactly! For you to be successful as an entrepreneur or before you start a business, you might want to think about these, you might want to think about these- what qualities do you I possess and how will they impact my business.
    A list of some these questions include:

    (a) Are You A Self Starter?









     

    With your own business, there’s no boss or manager to check your activities, to tell you what to do and when to do it.
    You have to be a self starter to have your business up and running. You have to motivate yourself when it seems like the odds are against you. You have to see the silver lining at the end of the tunnel. This is one characteristic you must possess as a budding entrepreneur.

    (b) What Is Your Attitude Towards Challenges?


    Businesses are constantly faced numerous challenges. You must be ready to embrace and see challenges as a necessary factor for business growth. Challenges always come with key lessons.







    (c) Do You Like Solving Problems?
     
    Ability to think “out of the box” is a hallmark of every successful entrepreneur. Develop a knack for  problem solving. Do not always follow the crowd; think how things can be done differently.








    (d) What Are My SWOT?

     

    Recognizing what you‘re good at and what you‘re not good at will help you a lot in building your business. When you know your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, it will be easier to know when to delegate and when to bring in the experts. What skills do you need to learn or brush up to run your business effectively?






    (e) Is Your Idea A Money Fetcher?

      Not every great idea makes money. A good business idea addresses a problem or a need and in return is rewarded. So test your idea and make sure it is profitable before you get started. Remember never to get your fingers burnt especially when it is avoidable.

    ENTREPRENEURSHIP:The Road To Financial Freedom.

    Do you really want to  create multiple sources of income? Are you tired of doing the rat race? Do you really want to have more time for yourself and your family?
    I ‘ve got two sets of news for you. Good news and bad news. Let me first of all serve you with the good news. If you are earning up to N3.5 or N4 million in a year, there is no doubt that in your lifetime more than N150 million will flow through your fingers. Too much money!! Most times, the books on this subject, probably will overwhelm you with details or bore you with some useless facts. The result (please let me whisper it) is that you ‘re like most people, you ‘re confused and frustrated. Wondering what to do, who to turn to.
